RPC is the leading supplier of rigid plastic packaging in Europe, with manufacturing operations in 12 countries of the European Union (and one in the USA).  Our product range spans all forms of rigid packaging in use today, namely injection moulded packs, thermoformed packs, formable sheet, and extrusion blow moulded packs as well as injection-blown and injection-stretch-blown packs. 

 

Principal Activities

 

Our plants typically convert granules of polymer into finished packs - which may be decorated by printing or label application, adding considerable value to the input.  Normally we aim to add all this value in-house but occasionally we buy-in components or services - for example self-adhesive labels, engineering skills and computer software.  One of our sites Bramlage Kork processes natural corks for the Champagne and sparkling wine and spirits industry.   

 

Our customers range from the largest multi-national companies like Unilever and Procter & Gamble to smaller local operators.  Our objective is to give all our customers good service and quality. 

 

We structure our operations along market and technological lines.  We have a number of plants in the UK primarily injection moulding polymer into pails, paint cans, tubs and vitamin supplement packs, while in Germany several RPC plants make personal care and pharmaceutical packs mainly by injection moulding.  Each of these operating groups is known as a cluster.

On average, each of these clusters has seven factories normally spread across a number of countries. We aim to give each plant as much autonomy as possible commensurate with maintaining overall financial control and effective co-ordination in each market sector.  Most plants have a management team headed up by a general manager.  We believe that this structure encourages entrepreneurial activity.

 

Our objectives are to further strengthen RPC`s position in these and other sectors of the European market and to optimise our production and thereby generate a satisfactory return for our shareholders and the best possible security for our employees, suppliers and customers.
