Designed for design
The importance and influence of creative design in RPC`s product ranges are reflected in the establishment of a new dedicated design department, RPC Design, located in customised premises at the Group`s Rushden site.
With an extensive choice of materials, processes, shapes, colours and decoration options, the possibilities for creative design are endless. Functionality is an important and whether designing from scratch or
working alongside external agencies, RPC designers` knowledge of the materials and manufacturing processes help to ensure that a pack`s success is based on more than mere good looks.
No matter how distinctive a pack, its image - and the perception of the brand it contains - will be short lived unless it offers something more than initial impact. The pack must also demonstrate outstanding functional
attributes, show respect for the environment and make life easier for manufacturers, retailers and end-users.
With 50 sites worldwide, the remit of RPC Design has widened accordingly. The new main office at Rushden is therefore laid out to enable ease of communication, and working with sophisticated CAD technology, RPC Design produces bespoke packaging concepts tailored to customers precise requirements.
With extensive knowledge of all three major manufacturing processes - blow moulding, injection
moulding and thermoforming - the department is well placed to deliver solutions that are as cost-efficient and user-friendly as they are eye-catching. Effective design can provide the differentiating factor giving a brand the necessary edge in crowded and competitive markets. RPC Design can help to realise the potential of plastics packaging.
